Design Thinking

What is Design Thinking?

Design Thinking is a problem-solving framework focused on user needs. It combines creative and analytical thinking and encourages collaboration across different disciplines.
The goal is to understand users, define key problems, generate ideas, create prototypes, and test solutions.

How we create effective wayfinding systems

At WFDNG, we rely on the Design Thinking methodology when working on wayfinding systems. This innovative approach enables us to create solutions that are not only functional but also user-friendly. As a result, we make it easier to navigate complex environments such as hospitals, shopping centers, or campuses.

How we apply design thinking in wayfinding

1. Empathy

We explore the needs, behaviors, and expectations of users in a specific environment. We observe how people move, where they get lost, and what helps them navigate better.

2. Problem definition

Based on gathered insights, we define a clear challenge:
What are the main orientation barriers? Where does the most confusion happen?

3. Ideation

Together with our team, we brainstorm various solutions—from traditional to innovative approaches. We encourage creativity and seek new pathways.

4. Prototyping

We create simple models or visual mockups of proposed solutions,
allowing us to quickly test their usability and clarity.

5. Testing

We present prototypes to real users, collect feedback, and iterate until we find the optimal solution.

Why we use design thinking

User-Friendliness

We focus on real user needs from the very beginning. Thanks to empathy and testing, we create systems that are understandable, functional, and truly helpful.

Innovation and originality

We look for new paths and aren't afraid to experiment. This approach leads to unique, creative, and effective solutions tailored to specific environments.

Efficiency and flexibility

The iterative process allows us to test ideas early and continuously improve them. This reduces the risk of costly mistakes and speeds up the path to the ideal result.

The result is wayfinding systems that work

Using the Design Thinking method, we create signage and navigation systems that:

✅ Make it easier to navigate complex environments.

✅ Take into account the needs of all users, including those with limited mobility or language barriers.

✅ Combine modern design with functionality.

We believe Design Thinking is key to creating wayfinding systems that not only guide but also enhance the overall user experience within a space.
